About the Founder

Narda Goodson has always had a passion and energy for life that is contagious.  A life-long New Yorker, Narda began her career as an entrepreneur in education.  She is the wife of the Honorable Mayor William "Bill" Goodson of Whitewright, Texas and mother of 3 beautiful daughters.

In 1984, at the age of fifteen, Narda received Jesus Christ into her heart.  From 1988 to 1997, she served as a praise and worship leader and youth director at Bronx Miracle Gospel Tabernacle, New York.  In 1999, she accepted the call to ministry and was ordained a minister.

In 2002, she joined Family Christian Center in New Rochelle, New York and served in the music department.  Although Narda was a former high school dropout, the absence of teaching experience and no degree never stopped her from dreaming.  In fact, Narda considered herself much like Joseph, the Biblical dreamer, and often found that she prospered in everything she did.

In 1997, she finally stepped out in faith and dared to pursue her dreams of teaching never once regarding the odds that were against her.  She opened up a Christian school that would impact, not only her world and those directly in it, but the lives of the students and parents she would so faithfully serve in her community throughout the years.

Narda ministered for over nine years as a successful principal, teacher, business executive and sole-proprietor of Noah's Ark Christian Academy, which served students from kindergarten to high school and she also governed the operation of a preschool in Bronx, New York.  Narda adopted the A Beka Curriculum, which ultimately served as the school’s foundation for education and the basis for her staff training and personal success as a teacher.

Narda took advantage of every opportunity to learn and considered herself “living her dream”.  But while teaching elementary to middle school aged students really posed no threat, the challenges of high school level learning and teaching were fast approaching.  You see, Narda had only gone as far as completing her freshman year of high school, and realistically, she knew that a good leader could not give to others what they themselves had not received.

But each year, as the school continued to grow, with her eldest child adding a new grade, so did she.  Narda was determined to succeed by meeting her goals of providing her three daughters and those she served with the very best in education.  In her mindset, there were no alternatives and no turning back.  Only what God had purposed in her heart stood forefront and an excellent and solid Christian education would be the goal at all cost; for New York City schools were a declining mess and the surrounding private schools did not meet up to her expectations and standards of excellence.

Narda had set the bar very high but knew that the God she served would carry her through her life’s dream.  She gave her dream a plan by turning her entire two-family home into a school.  Bedrooms became classrooms, and for beds, the family used daycare cots and mats.  The walls that once held family pictures and portraits became spaces for chalkboard hanging, posters, student work displays, and artwork.

Narda spent days and nights learning, reading, and practicing, often refusing to look into the teacher’s edition for quick answers until she mastered them and she spent countless hours figuring out problems, studying, grading, and preparing for the next day’s lesson.  Narda’s hard work finally paid off with great dividends, as she became Noah’s Ark Christian Academy’s first high school graduate.  Narda continued advancing in her education and went on to complete her M.A. in Education.

In 2003, Narda received an honor for serving as a mentor for the New York National Guard Teen Challenge Program, and in 2005, she instituted a Bible academy for teens, young adults, and women.

But it was during the spring of 2005, that Narda’s world as she knew it came to a fold.  This was the most challenging, painful and difficult time she had ever experienced in her Christian journey, and after being abandoned by her husband of 17 years, Narda found herself gradually debilitating and drifting into an unknown world of sorrow.  She found herself engulfed by much pain and depression, which ultimately left her fighting for her life while holding to all she knew to be true in Christ.

It has been an adventurous journey since Narda’s New York exodus and after fighting many personal battles, she stayed the course, and as a result, her noble choices led her to be at the right place at the right time.  When she first came to Texas, it was a big cultural shock, but it was not long before God began to unveil His plans concerning her life there. Similar to Ruth and Boaz life’s story, Narda sojourned to a small city in Texas where one day she had to enter the courtroom to face a traffic citation she had received.

As she confidently prayed the prayer of Esther, she stepped into the courtroom only to find favor and grace in the eyes of the king as the golden scepter was stretched out to her.  Narda knew she was not in New York anymore for the mayor was also the judge.  Narda stood before her 21st century Boaz and her biblical kinsman redeemer.  She was to get nine hours but ended up with life.  But the rest you can read in her book.

In 2006, Narda was ordained a pastor, and in 2007, she released her first book Will the Real Me Please Stand Up.   Now, as a supportive wife and mother, a columnist for Daily Doses of Gospel Pills, and other Christian columns, Narda is an inspiration and mentor to both men, women, and teens everywhere.

Suffering sexual, emotional, and physical abuse as a child and the pain of an emotionally wounding first marriage, Narda discovered the freedom to live victoriously by applying God's Word to her life, and in turn, is committed to help others do the same.  She travels throughout the United States for speaking and singing engagements and hosts a musical dramatized synopsis of her book for the purpose of bringing healing and restoration.

Speaking styles include from innovative musicals to humorous storytelling with rousing inspirational and purpose driven messages.  Narda has the anointing and gift of weaving together Scriptures, stories, songs, and music to communicate truth, and as she speaks, she integrates personal accounts and draws off life and writing experiences, which includes her first book, newspapers, and newsletters on many topics related to Christian living.
